BLACKPINK are the most-followed girl group in the world, and they got there with a catalog small enough to fit on one playlist. YG Entertainment debuted the four members in August 2016 with two songs at once, WHISTLE and BOOMBAYAH, and the formula was set immediately: a trap-heavy drop, a chanted hook and four distinct personalities who could each carry a solo career.
That last part turned out to be literal. JENNIE went solo first with SOLO in 2018, ROSÉ and LISA followed in 2021, JISOO in 2023, and by 2024 ROSÉ's APT. with Bruno Mars was one of the biggest pop songs on the planet. BLACKPINK is now as much a brand shared by four global stars as it is a group, which is why fans argue about group songs and solo songs in the same breath.
For a newcomer the good news is that you can hear everything in an afternoon. The group has released fewer than twenty Korean title tracks, so the fandom's debates are less about deep cuts and more about eras: the fierce 2018 to 2020 run, the Born Pink stadium era, and the members' solo peaks.
Start here: five songs
- 1
DDU-DU DDU-DU (2018)
The finger-gun chorus that made BLACKPINK a global name and remains the most-viewed K-pop group music video on YouTube. Everything BLACKPINK does well is in this one song.
- 2
How You Like That (2020)
The pandemic-era comeback with the throne-room set and the drop everyone learned on TikTok. It broke YouTube premiere records on release day.
- 3
Kill This Love (2019)
The brass fanfare, the military choreography and the Coachella stage where BLACKPINK became the first K-pop girl group to play the festival.
- 4
PLAYING WITH FIRE (2016)
Proof the group can do melody as well as drops. A warm, melodic single from their first year that older BLINKs still rank near the top.
- 5
APT. — ROSÉ with Bruno Mars (2024)
Not a group song, but the biggest hit any member has had, built on a Korean drinking game and a pop-punk chorus. It is the reason a lot of new fans arrived in 2024 and 2025.

Moments fans remember
Coachella 2019
BLACKPINK were booked for a mid-afternoon slot and drew one of the biggest crowds of the weekend. Four years later they came back as headliners, the first Asian act to top the bill at Coachella.
The How You Like That premiere
In June 2020, with no touring possible, BLINKs treated the How You Like That release like a live event. The premiere pulled more than a million concurrent viewers and set a YouTube record within 24 hours.
Four solo careers, one group
Every member has topped a global chart on her own, which has never happened in a K-pop group before. BLINKs half-joke that BLACKPINK is a supergroup that happened to debut together, and the 2025 reunion tour turned that joke into a stadium setlist.
